Summer Camp Teachers

Summer at Breakwater is accepting applications for summer camp teachers to join our dynamic summer camp team for all or part of the summer.

About the Position: 

Summer at Breakwater is looking for Summer Camp Teachers who can provide engaging content for campers ages 8-13. Our high quality, high energy summer programming attracts curious children and teens looking for opportunities to explore and deepen their knowledge and experience in the visual and mechanical arts, science, outdoor adventure and technology. Teachers will be responsible for the program planning and teaching of a morning, afternoon, or full camp program that adheres to predetermined camp themes. Teachers will be supported by counselors, CITs, and camp administration. Summer at Breakwater

Requirements

Schedule and Start Date:

Programs run for 2-weeks at a time Monday - Friday, June 26, 2023 - August 18, 2023, 8am - 4pm. July 4th will be a holiday. We are seeking teachers who can join us for one session, multiple sessions, or the whole summer!

Mandatory Training on Thursday/Friday, June 22nd & 23rd, 9 am - 3pm

Qualifications:

• History of professional work experience teaching elementary or middle school aged youth
• Demonstrated ability to engage in positive relationships with staff, supervisors, children, and families
• Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively 
• Teaching experience in a classroom, summer camp (highly preferred), after school program, or other educational/ youth development setting
• Ability to plan engaging lessons and activities that adhere to predetermined summer camp programs and themes
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience driving a 15 passenger van and/or mini bus highly preferred
