- Outdoor Educator, Crow Camp Lead Counselor
Description
Lead a seven week outdoors skills program that immerses campers ages 9-11 in outdoor living and stewardship skills. Bring your outdoor skills and interests to help you plan weekly themes that teach, engage, and inspire campers. Some theme ideas include: plant identification, tracking, trail map reading, birds and bird songs, hikes and skits, weather observation, Leave No Trace principals, making drawing tools and natural ink. Working with a group of 9-12 campers together with an assistant counselor you’ll spend your days outdoors: hiking, observing, building community, playing outdoor games, creating arts & crafts, and reflecting on the days spent together.
Requirements
For this lead counselor position, we are seeking candidates who: have prior experience working in camps or school settings, have planned and successfully run outdoor education programs, and can lead groups of campers with enthusiasm, inclusion, and structure. Camp weeks and planning days, run June 10-July 31. Hourly rate $25-30 an hour, depending on experience level.
