About this role

Camp Walden, a traditional all-girls residential summer camp nestled in the beautiful lakes region of Maine, is seeking compassionate, energetic, and experienced nurses to join our Summer 2027 team!

Our camp nurses play an essential role in creating a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for campers ages 8–15 and our staff. Responsibilities include providing daily medical care, administering medications, assessing illnesses and injuries, maintaining accurate health records, and communicating with parents and camp leadership as needed.

Working alongside our camp leadership team and consulting physician, our nurses help ensure that every camper can fully enjoy the magic of summer camp.

This is a wonderful opportunity for nurses who love working with children, enjoy the outdoors, and want to be part of a close-knit, welcoming community. Bonus points if you like to sing by the campfire.

Seasonal positions are available, with flexible 3–4 week commitments. Room and board are provided.

Key Requirements

Current, unrestricted RN license, with eligibility to practice nursing in Maine.
Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, emergency care, or community health preferred.
Ability to assess and manage common childhood illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns.
Experience administering medications and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with camp leadership, healthcare providers, and fellow staff.
A compassionate, approachable personality and a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents.
Flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for living and working in a residential summer camp environment.
