Description
Wyonegonic Camps is the longest running residential camp for girls in the United States. We offer a traditional resident program serving 3 meals per day, 7 days per week for a community of 300 people. The Meal Cook is part of a team of 12 staff reporting to the Food Service Director/Head Chef.
Responsibilities include preparing, cooking and serving family style breakfast, buffet style lunch and family style dinner while supervising safety and cleanliness during the shift.
Breakfast Meal Cook is responsible for Breakfast and Lunch
Dinner Meal Cook is responsible for Lunch and Dinner
Competitive hourly compensation can include room/board and camp opportunity for staff children
Seasonal position:
- start date varies between May 28 – June 15
- end date varies between August 13 – August 31
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience as a cook or assistant cook
- Training and experience in meal preparation for large groups
- Strong work ethic
- Knowledge of basic standards of food preparation, sanitation and food safety procedures (SERVSAFE preferred).
- Ability to work well with others
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift/unload food and supplies
- Stand, lift, operate for a full shift
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Communicate well with other team members
- Interpret written menus and meal plans
- Respect Camp rules and policies
- Role model through positive behavior
