Description
Camp Bishopswood is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Cabin Counselors to join our summer staff team! This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of campers while spending the summer outdoors in a fun, supportive community.
About the Role
Cabin Counselors live in cabins with campers and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging camp experience. You’ll mentor campers, support daily activities, and help build the positive camp culture that makes Camp Bishopswood special. Counselors also instruct in at least one activity area - these include Waterfront (swimming, sailing, canoe, SUP), Arts and Crafts, Performing Arts, Camp Craft, Sports and Games, Cooking etc.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and care for a group of campers in a cabin setting
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor
- Help campers build friendships, confidence, and independence
- Assist with daily activities, games, and evening programs
- Ensure camper safety and well-being at all times
- Work collaboratively with fellow counselors and program staff
Qualifications:
- Enjoy working with children and teens
- Responsible, energetic, and supportive team player
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Prior experience with youth programs, camps, or education is a plus
- Willingness to live at camp and fully participate in the community
