- Camp Counselor
Description
Friends Camp is hiring camp counselors to join our vibrant, close-knit, welcoming community! We are looking for cabin counselors to live in girls', boys', and gender-expansive cabins. Being a counselor involves living in a cabin with 5-10 campers and one other counselor, developing and leading creative and fun programming, and being an energetic and caring role model for youth ages 7-17. We are grounded in Quaker values of peace, simplicity, and equality, but you do not have to have any background in Quakerism to work at camp! Our 2026 season dates are from June 12 - August 15 (about a week of staff orientation followed by four 2-week camp sessions). Feel free to check out our website ( friendscamp.org ) if you want to learn more, and if you think you might be a great fit, we'd love to get to know you!
Requirements
Counselors must be at least 19 years old and have lived away from home for at least a year or otherwise demonstrated independence in some way. We look for candidates with experience working with children—whether through a job, babysitting, or taking care of family members. No specific skills are necessary for working at camp, but you must be creative, adaptable, responsible, open-minded, and excited to have fun and be a positive role model for kids. Swimming skills are not required, but if you are a strong swimmer and interested in becoming a lifeguard we offer a training program during staff orientation and a bonus for all lifeguards.
