AV is run by a hardworking and loving group of 80 year-round and seasonal employees who believe that every child deserves the chance to enjoy the magic of camp. Our staff are people who put the campers first, understand that camp is a community, and demonstrate the skills we ask our campers to learn - self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness. Our campers come from tough backgrounds, with 35% having experienced foster care, homelessness, recent immigration, domestic violence, or having an incarcerated family member. AV staff treat them with kindness, respect, and an innate understanding that behavior is fueled by unmet needs.
Agassiz Village offers children and teens the opportunity to develop and practice leadership and life skills that will impact their future in education, family, career, and in their communities.
